Senses

This week in reading my goal was Visualise using all of the senses, and talk about how this enriches meaning.We had to read a story and pick out three sentences that have sense in them then we had to find images that relate to the sentence.

Maths

This week in math my goal was, Use an efficient strategy to solve a broad range of strategies to solve multiplication and division problems with whole numbers & decimals. We looked at lots of different strategies.We answered eight questions then I made a screen castify with two of my friends, we each answered one question.

Show Not Tell

This week my writing goal was, Use “show not tell” when appropriate. We had to fix sentences to make them more interesting then for our create we had an image and had to write a paragraph discibing the setting.

The long  thick grass soaked my tousers as I fought my way through. My teeth clenched as I felt the fresh sea breeze run down my spine. My stiff blue hands pried the old rusty door open, when I stepped inside all the memories flashed though my mind. Through a crack in the metal roof I could see the moss and flax peeking though. I wandered down the hall into the room where the wooden bedframe and ripped sheets sat. The curitans blew and the window banged as the rain poured down.

Scatter Plot

This week in maths my goal was Collect and display data on a scatter graph / Talk about distinctive features of scatter graphs. We had to make up data then display them on a scatter Plot witch is a type of graph. Then we had to put it on a slide and make 3 statements about the data.

The mirror in the attic

This week in writing we focused on narrative writing. We watched some videos on how to structure a narrative then we used a graphic Organiser to plan our ideas. There where four images we had to choose from to base our narrative on, I picked The mirror in the Attic . The narrative had to be between 250 and 300 hundred words, mine was 299.

Here is my narrative

The hinges creaked as she opened the door to the old musty room where the mirror laid.She picked up the shiny silver mirror and propped it against the old attic wall.The mirror glowed when a streak of light hit the glass.She touched to glass and it sucked her in, tumble and flip her body went. As she awoke she pulled the blanket over her head.She sat up  Where am I?  What am I doing? she thought. She wandered out of the room into a long hall way with many doors. At the end of hallway she saw a nice looking lady, that said
 “Good morning Lola, you are up early” 
The girl smiled and said “ but  it’s 7:00 I have school,” 
The lady replied,” Don’t tell me you already forgot, you don't have school where in lockdown for Covid 19 remember”
“Ohh yeah,” she replied as she started to walk back to her room.She entered the room again thats when something caught her eye, the mirror.Is that how I got here? Whats Covid 19? What lockdown? What year is it? Who's Lola I’m Alice? She though to herself.

She sat at her vanity as she fixed her hair where her mirror hung. She reached out for a hair tie but hit the mirror.It sucked her in she flung side to side like a washing machine.
“ Alice hurry up get ready we’re going to be late,” a young girl shouted
“ Late for what,” she mumbled
“ School what else” the girl replied
She rolled out of bed and started to put on what look like an old school uniform. The scratchy dress and tight shirt rubbed against her skin.What year is it? How’d  I get here? So am I Alice?  She wondered.

Yay the last week of home learning, I never thought i'd say this but i'm kind of excited to go back to school. This week for reading my goal was Use questions to challenge the text, question the author, establish the authenticity of the text and state opinions. We used Jam board to answer a few question then read an article, I read Are E scooters as awesome as we think . For our create we used a 321 template to show our learning.

Mother Mary

This month in the month of May we are ask to pray and worship to Mary, Mary is the Mother of Jesus. So this week in RE we are focused on Mary.We had to read Pope Francis's letter to us asking us to pray the rosary this month asking Mary to help stop coronavirus. We then had to work on a template with three questions. 
Question one we watched a video on how to be a disciple like Mary this is what I think it means - Let Jesus be with you, allow  Jesus to show you the the way to live and to be a true disciple. We are children of the lord we must let the Holy spirt show within you and recognise that we are children of the lord. Recognise the Lord make time to think and reflect on the lord.
Question two, What is so significant about the Hail Mary - The Hail Mary is the oldest prayer it was spoken when Jesus was conceived by Mother Mary. The Hail Mary is the most repeated prayer, Mary said the first christian prophecy that from the day Jesus was conceived everyone shall call her blessed. The Hail Mary is the most imitated its structure is constantly used because it goes from praising and announcing to asking God for something. The Hail Mary is the powerful prayer even though it is Marys prayer she still talks about the Lord Jesus this is because Jesus said,”Everything you ask the Father for in my name he will give you”.
Question Three, We read Mary's story the asked What do you find inspiring about Mary - I inspire to Mary because even though she thought she wasn’t ready to be the Mother of Jesus she still looked up and trusted God that he had a plan. This shows we should always look up and trust God. We remember Mary by praying the rosary and praying the Hail Mary.

Lastly we had to create a DLO on Mary

Whats the probability

This week for Maths my goal was, Make and justify the probability of events in common situations. Use relative frequency to predict events.We had to watch videos to find out what this meant then we did some practice questions.For our create we had to come up with our own 2- way table then write 3 .

Poems

This week for Writing my goal was Select words and phrases to enhance meaning and/or mood and confidently shape ideas for effect.We did this through poems when watch quite a few videos on what a diamante poem was and other types of poems.For our create we had to write a diamante poem and a different type of poem.

Reading Relationships

My goal for reading this week was Identify several ideas, discuss the author's stance or purpose, and understand relationships in the text.We could pick from two texts to read I read, How to fall. We then had to think about the relationships between the text and the key ideas.For our create we used a template to answer some of the questions.
